Pit FunOur recreational gymnastics program has a wide range of movement and gymnastics classes offered to children of all ages from walkers to young adults.  This non-competitive program offers a basic gymnastics curriculum through advanced training.  Your child will experience all of the Olympic events and more to include:

Toddlers

(for ages Walking to 3 1/2 years.)

“Mom and me” classes. This program is designed to develop early motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. Some activities include: jumping, climbing, use of obstacle courses, developmental trampoline skills, along with the introduction to the gymnastics apparatus. Moms & Dads should be prepared to move about, you are the child’s primary instructor while a trained staff person guides you through the class. 8:1 ratio


Developmental

(for ages 3 1/2 to 5 years)

Our 1-hour developmental classes are for children ranging in age from 3 1/2 to 5 years old. Usually this is a transitional class from the Toddler program. The children will work directly with one of our experienced instructors. The basic skills learned in the Toddler program will be reinforced along with a more intermediate focus utilizing the gymnastics apparatus. 7:1 ratio


Girls/Boys

(for ages 6 – 8, and 9 years and older)

The fundamentals of gymnastics are introduced to beginner level gymnast through the advanced level. Each gymnast will be evaluated two times a year though our progress reporting system to keep you in tune with their accomplishments. Twice a year, typically June and December, parents are invited onto the gym floor for skills day! 8:1 ratio


Cheer Tumble (Beginner)

Ages 6 yrs through High school (50 and 60 minute classes are available)

Classes are for both girls and boys to learn the beginner level tumbling skills and jumps to help prepare them for cheerleading in the All-Star level, Recreational or the School level.  Such skills that will be introduced are basic rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round- offs and walkovers.  Jumps will include the basic arm motions and toe touch.  Conditioning is also introduced at this level. 


Cheer Tumble (Intermediate)

Ages 6 yrs through High school (50 and 60 minute classes are available)          

Classes are for girls and boys who have been introduced to the beginner level cheer skills and have mastered them.  We will challenge them to learn the standing back handspring and round off backhand spring.  Jumps will include toe touch and pike jump.  Conditioning is also a key part of this level. 


Cheer Tumble (Advanced)

Ages 6 yrs through High school (50 and 60 minute classes are available)

Classes are for girls and boys who have mastered the skills required in Intermediate Cheer Tumble and are ready to learn back tucks with tumbling and standing.  Layouts and twisting may also be introduced based on the readiness of each student.  Jumps will include toe touch, pike, front hurdle and side hurdle.  Conditioning will continue to be a key focus in this level as well.
